Ask yourself…what is the purpose of getting together with my family and friends at Xmas?
Its about love and sharing and caring.
Its not about perfect food or presents.
Its about being together.
None of us know how long we have… my Mum was a burnout workaholic, and overgave in service to others for 40yrs, and couldn’t say “no” to her family. Then one xmas day she was unexpectedly rushed to hospital, and then they discovered she had to have an emergency operation and had terminal bowel cancer. She was only supposed to last a few months, but I kept sending her regular Pellowah Empowerment Healings and she lasted 1.5yrs. She died at 74yrs old.
What I learnt is that my mind says everything is soooo important, but in the big scheme of things, its not. Its not life or death. I used to rush around trying to be superwomen and make everything perfect for special occasions like xmas too or birthdays. But I did tooo much. And all my partner, family and friends really wanted was to have fun and be with me. They were happy if it was simple. It was being together that counted.
I used to think “MORE is better”.
Now I realize that “LESS is more”.
Is a banana cake better, because you put more ingreditents in it? Like pears, apples, grapefruit, double amount of sugar, double amount of flour?
No, a banana cake is delicious when you put a balance of ingredients in.
Less ingredients is better. Not more ingredients.
What if we did 10% less this December, how much more enjoyment could we have?
The less I do, the more I seem to receive. This December, I’ve decided to do “less running around, and feeling like I HAVE to have a holiday”. My body really wants to settle and complete many practical things at home and work this December. It’s been a huge year…and it feels sooo good to honour that. Whats your body wanting to do “Less of” this December?
